Update: It is not surprising to me that Pep Boys is being acquired, given the level of customer service we experienced. Throughout this situation, my husband and I felt that our concerns were dismissed, and we were effectively accused of being dishonest, despite our understanding that the information we received from staff was inaccurate. Pep Boys is now claiming that we were informed of the diagnostic fee before any work was performed. That is simply not what occurred. Had I been told in advance that the charge would be $116, I would not have authorized the service. I fully expected to pay a reasonable diagnostic fee, but I did not anticipate such a significant charge—especially considering the vehicle was in the shop for approximately 15 minutes and the issue remained unresolved. Rather than acknowledging the miscommunication, management appeared more focused on defending the actions of their staff. To make matters worse, the supervisor justified both the charge and the manner in which we were treated. Customers should never be made to feel as though they are being called liars or spoken down to simply for questioning a bill or expressing concerns about the service they received.

Tony and Chris were so extremely helpful to us when we had car trouble while on a multistate road trip. They were fully booked on a Sunday but graciously fit us in so we could continue on our trip to pick up a rescue horse. They ran a diagnostic first to make sure the correct problem was being addressed which ended up saving us a lot of money. They explained everything concisely and in a way we could understand. Thank you so much Pep Boys in Dickson City!

Took my pick up there out of necessity, ii dropped it off there because i lost brakes and couldn’t go above 43 miles per hour. i’m currently on a trip for work and 12 hours from home. i told them my main and really only concern was to get the lights off and be able to drive it home. Well they call and say it needs brakes all the way around and a huge list of things. i just had the brakes in the front done 2 weeks earlier so i should have just told them not to do anything at that point because i knew the fronts was good and they was just trying to stack up a big bill on me. well they done rear brakes and rotors (they did need done) and i get a call oh all your lights are still on and it’s still derated i have to do the fronts also. i tell them they are new and ask if they can just change the sensors because they didn’t get changed last time, well the tech says oh no we can’t do that they don’t just sell the sensors…. i knew at that point it was pointless to keep my truck there. they lied to me and was just trying to get every penny they could from me. so i go pick up my truck pay my 650 dollar bill that’s could have been avoided and still left with a truck that’s not working 12 hour

Excellent customer service and quick inspection! Tony was extremely patient and helpful! When I arrived for my appointment, I didnt notice my registration expired a few days prior. Tony waited patiently as I renewed my registration online and even printed out a copy for me and not once treated me like I was an inconvenience in any way. They called me not long after I left to tell me a crack on my windshield was too large to pass inspection. Tony took the liberty to call a few glass repair shops to get some replacement quotes. After getting my windshield repaired, I brought my vehicle back and it took just over an hour for the inspection. Will definitely be back next time I need any service!

I special ordered 4 tires. Tony at the front desk was fantastic. He said they would come in within the next 2 days. They came the next day and Tony called exactly as promised. Excellent communication. Chris installed them and did a wonderful job. Even stayed late so I could get in. I appreciate that since I was driving with a spare. Great bunch of guys I highly recommend!
